I love a good coincidence :-)  Couple of interesting expirations...

  • One of my credit cards expired today.  Not your problem I know, just saying...
  • The first Office 2007 betas expired today too.  If this stands between you and a productive morning in Outlook, grab the Beta 2 Technical Refresh and you will be able to the 31st of March.

*with apologies for the Dark Side of the Moon reference, I'm still on a buzz from seeing Roger Waters at the SuperdomeAcer Arena last week...

Talking Pink Floyd, eh?

Personally I thought `Dark Side of the Moon` (which is far too esteemed for an acronym) achieving #1 in `Australia's favourite album` (here: http://www.abc.net.au/myfavouritealbum/) was not all that surprising and I'm not disappointed with it's rank. First CD I ever bought, first CD I ever played on my 'hifi'. However I didn't vote for it, I didn't vote at all and my time wasn't wasted, because my favourite album is better than anything Anthony Callea has dreamt of.

Could you vote more than once?

The audience that graces `Spicks and Specks`, the general line of questions and even the majority of musical special guests, is somewhat indicative of the top ten.
Can't you imagine Jon English still playing Meat Loaf at dinner parties?

Dicko (that's his nickname, right?) actually dosed out some constructive criticism for once and I was dumbstruck when he wondered why Public Enemy's 1990 classic `Fear of a Black Planet` was nowhere to be heard. I concur.

Speaking to friends that missed the show (they didn't really miss anything except for Myf Warhurst's plunging cleavage - she is a lesbian's wet dream) the questions were raised "Rolling Stones? Elvis?". Hmm, "95, and 0". And the suggestion from that forgettable female comedian that "You're either a Beatles fan or an Elvis fan"? I say to those people, you deserve to carry that weight.

On my list of favourite ever TV shows, it ranks right up there with Elvis.

p.s The never-out-of-character Tim Rogers from `You Am I` had a cameo appearance. I can't quite remember exactly what he said, but it was probably something like "The only reason Nirvana are bigger than us is because I didn't commit suicide". Hold tight Tim, I don't remember Curt Cobain covering any of *your* songs.

Well said JB :)

I don't know if I agree with the Either/Or proposition about Elvis vs. Beatles fans either... What I did find funny however was the suggestion that dying on the toilet was much more respectable music ending than forming Wings :)
